In this final episode of season 1 of the Liberated Equestrian Podcast, I’m coming to you with a rather personal update and reflections on the events that have transpired over the last few months!
Let’s just say, I didn’t know where this episode was heading until I got to the end of the recording! And then wondered, and worried, did that make any sense at all! But after listening to it multiple times, I’ve decided it is worth letting these personal thoughts stand unedited and unscripted because in the authenticity, I’m sensing there is something there for you.
Trigger warning, however, as I do share about my recent horseback riding fall, which has been a powerful catalyst for reflecting on the healing and growth I’ve experienced since I drafted the first words of Finding Calm, and came up with the CALM framework (Connection, Awareness, Learning, Motivation). While I’m back to dealing with that internal struggle of the inherent risks of horseback riding, especially given my roles as a business owner, wife, mother, and now grandmother, I’m also feeling assured by knowing a process that works for a confidence comeback.
In my “stall rest,” so to speak, I’ve been able to see how much has changed. I’ve grown tremendously in listening to my body, advocating for myself, and not pushing through pain. I’m also seeing how significant this timing in the lessons God has been imparting on me and how this holy pause is providing clarity about His calling to walk by faith, in grace, towards the dreams He has placed in my heart.
Even in the suffering and the struggle, I’m finding a new level of surrender and an ignited passion for what I sense lies ahead.
So I invite you to pour yourself a cup of tea – iced or hot is fine by me – and step into this reflective space. I hope and pray my thoughts help you feel not so alone in your struggles and inspire you to continue to pursue true liberation, supported by feeling a deep sense of belonging, hope for a breakthrough, and reassurance that you are still becoming who you were meant to be.
