Become a StableMinded Volunteer

If you find yourself in a season of life where you would like to give your time, talents, and resources towards a mission that impacts lives in a tangible way, we invite you to become a StableMinded Volunteer.

The opportunities to serve are endless and the commitment level can be as little as a few hours month. As you'll see looking over our volunteer opportunities list, you can pick and choose your commitment level based on your availability and what you hope to gain by serving!

You might be wondering, however, why does a business like StableMinded need volunteers instead of having paid staff? That answer is simply this:

Our volunteer-supported model allows the services provided by StableMinded to remain below the industry standard.

If you compare the average cost of an equine-assisted coaching/therapy session to StableMinded fees, you'll soon discover that what we offer is 30% to 60% less. We have set our prices intentionally low because we desire to make these services available to as many as possible.

One way we accomplish this mission of helping as many individuals, families, and groups as possible grow emotionally resilient and relationally strong is by depending upon volunteers like you to help us meet the practical needs.

If this sounds like a vision and mission you would like to be a part of, please take a few minutes to complete the application form below. We look forward to partnering with you as we provide a much-needed service to our community.

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

Each position varies in terms of commitment and necessary experience. You may hold one or many roles! It is up to you!

Equine Assistants

Equine assistants fulfill the important role of connecting with our equine partners and supporting their work before, during, and after a client session. Responsibilities include bringing the horse in from the field, grooming, and connecting before a session as well as support during a session and turnout after a session. Horse experience is a must, along with a willingness to be trained in doing this work aligned with the StableMinded values and principles of connection, comparison, and clarity of requests.

Photography & Video

We love to capture what we're doing with the horses, clients, and event participants (of course, with their permission), so if you enjoy capturing photos and videos, editing digital media, we've got plenty of volunteer hours for you!

Social Media

Does social media excite you rather than make you want to run? Come on board to produce, curate, and connect with prospective clients and supporters through producing and managing our social media content!

Event Assistants

Event Assistants provide important support in the setup and clean-up of spaces, including assembling and disassembling round pens, tables, chairs, and various gear/tools (grooming supplies, props, etc) used during the vent. Setting up various promotional materials and refreshments and cleaning up post-event is also a part of this role.

Grant Research and Writing

Do you love finding the funding to make a program viable and provide much-needed services? Join our volunteer team as a grant researcher and writer. Your expertise in this area is invaluable!

StableMinded Ambassador

Take your passion for the services we offer and share them with the local community through participation in business groups, networking groups, Chamber of Commerce, and various non-for-profit organizations. Either capitalize on your current membership by sharing StableMinded or represent StableMinded at events that Lisa is not able to attend.
