Meet Your Coach

Lisa Pulliam, the founder of StableMinded.us, is not your typical horsewoman! While her earliest memories include pony rides and playing with her rocking horse, she did not necessarily grow up with horses. As a middle schooler, she had the privilege of going on day-long trail rides with her uncle, with her arms wrapped around his waist as they galloped through state parklands. As a high school and college gal, she participated in riding camps and the club team, but quickly realized the competition world was not for her.

While she dreamed of one day growing up and owning a beautiful bay gelding for herself, that dream did not come true until she hit her late forties and met Kodiak Jack -- who embodied all the things she said she would never say "yes" too. Yep, this darling 16-hand, off-the-track and seven-year abandoned green-bean racehorse is all hers. Nothing about the decision to adopt him made any sense at all, except his remarkable personality and dynamic brain.

As a second-season equestrian, Lisa brings into her horsemanship a lifetime of experiences in the human world that influence her relationship-based and neurophysiology's approach to training not only the horse but more so the human. Make no mistake, Lisa is not your gal for getting your horse's physical performance underway, but she will help you find a calm, confident, and clear way forward through giving you the skills to support the growth process for both you and your horse. Think of Lisa as your mental fitness trainer and relationship coach, dedicated to supporting you so that you can give your horse a solid foundation to build into any performance goal or disicpline.

Lisa is a certified Natural Lifemanship Trauma-Informed Equine-Assisted Specialist and Coach, Life Breakthrough Coach, Highlands Ability Battery Consultant, and is pursuing an MA in Clinical Counseling with a trauma concentration at Eastern University.

When she’s not serving clients, you can find her balancing her time at the stables enjoying her barn family and beloved OTTB Kodiak Jack, and home savoring the time with her husband of 27 years, all-grown-up children, and being entertained by her beloved Golden Retrievers, Beckley and Toby.
